Today I want to talk about 5 ways you can start promoting your business if you have no money. As a new entrepreneur it is very hard to spend money on your business if you don't have any to spend. I know when I started I thought I could run my business without spending any money. I learned though that eventually you will have to spend money on something there is no way of getting around that.
There are though ways to promote and get leads for FREE but you must be consistent. Below are 5 ways I found to do just that! Oh yes and by the way the FREE way will take up more time verses paid exposure. So you need to be prepared to spend your time if you want this to work.
1. Social Media
Get to to know who your target audience is, as this is one of the most popular ways to get noticed. You will need good content such as interesting stories, good images ex: images of quotes or videos and your time. You can join groups related to you business or niche.
Social media has now become a necessary time investment tool for every business to use. You can place ads and offers on your Facebook page and have a direct channel for your customers on Twitter. Focus on one social media site do that one well before you move on to another one.
2. Make Videos
Videos are the #1 converting marketing strategy out there, I know that this makes a lot of people nervous but if you are not ready to show your face you can do a slide show and talk people through it. People are also hesitate about making videos because they think they have to be perfect. Not true! All you need to do is just make sure you are getting your message out. You do not need any fancy equipment to make videos if you do not have a video camera you can use your cell phone, or your desktop camera if you have one. To share your computer screen you can use a free screen recorder called screencast-o-matic.com
Again, the key is to put up good content people would be interested in like ‘how-to’ style video content.
3. Start Blogging
One of the major keys of blogging is to keep your content updated as frequently as possible. Blogging is a good way for your customers to connect with you and comment on your blogs.
Add social sharing buttons to your blog so your audience can easily share it. Make sure you offer free giveaways, your affiliate links and your business link on your blog. You may want to check out my post on blogging called Blogging is Free
4. Write a Press Release
A press release is the quickest and easiest way to get free publicity. The definition for Press Release is an official statement issued to newspapers giving information on a particular matter. In this case though I have a free platform you can use to write your Press Release. A Press release is the same as a blog or video and you are sharing good content. You can share information on updated information about how your business is expanding.
The free tool I use is very unique in that it is tied closely with Google, Bing, and Yahoo search engines. This means that what you write can be found by the major search engines within a short period of time. Your content is not just seen by the people on this platform it is seen by people outside of the platform. You are getting so much exposure to your business. 5. Pass out Flyers
If you like to promote your business offline you can pass out flyers. You can make the flyers right on your computer and print them out. You can hang flyers at the library, laundromat, hospitals, poles, buildings. Some places have a special board for you to hang your flyers the opportunity is endless. Be careful putting flyers on cars I think it is illegal find out in your county or city before you do. The key is to pick one of these marketing strategies and do it everyday for 90 days and then move on to another one.
